Bonjour à tous!

I'm from Paris, France, and i will begin my introduction in french, it's easier for me, i will do a translation after ;)

English Translation.

I'm 32 and I bought a Saturn when it was released in Europe, between ridge racer / tekken sega and rally/VF2...My choice was quickly done, I took the Saturn, because i was a Sega Fan and I didn't believe the chances of success of the PS One ... That was a big mistake. So I spent many hours on the Saturn thanks to Mystaria, Worldwide Soccer, Rayman, Sega Rally, Fighters Megamix and other games ... and I felt some spleen, everybody was joking about the Saturn, I didn't have any friend who possessed this console, i was amazed and frustrated by the japonese games that never came here ... and I decided to exchange my console with a N64.

I wasn't happy with my N64, I think I was cursed. Then later, I bought a Dreamcast ( what a machine) and I have bought later an Xbox 360.

And now I wanted to find my ancient love and i bought again a Saturn, my favorite machine with the Dreamcast.

What really pushed me to come here is Murazame. I read that there were few people coming in the forum (logical, people prefer to visit general sites like jeuxvideos.com, Gamestop, Kotaku ... and in the retrogame universe, the Saturn is much less popular than SNES) so I said to myself "let's get in on!"

Thank you for this HUGE job Murazame, with your reviews, i have discovered unknown games that i want to test when i was a teen :D .

Congratulations on your willingness to manage the website and forum.

Welcome Nookie!

You're not alone, more and more people are revisiting the Saturn only to discover how much they've missed the system. While the Saturn was still for sale I never knew of the import scene. There were no shops in my area that sold imported games. I only discovered imports thanks to the internet ;) I was already passionate about the Saturn but imports have made it my favorite console to this day!

Once again, welcome Nookie!

Thanks for your reply, i've seen you're one of the most present members here ;)

You're right, with ebay, emuation sites, and the boom of the retrogaming, the saturn is discovered again by many people, like me for example, when i have it the first time, i read in the magazines the reviews of games like princess crown, albert odissey...i was disgusted ha ha. I had imported shops but it was so expensive...like now.

Unfortunately, sega saturn will always be less popular than for example machines like Super Nintendo or Neo-Geo. In France, the most popular retro console are the snes by far. It's because of the lack of pal/us games for me. In France, Sega Saturn is very respected by the hardcore gamers, but it's not very known :| .

I've talked about Murazame but all the staff does a fantastic work, i'm impressed by the saturn database also. You must have a lot of passion for this console to continue this adventure ;)

Welcome to the forums Nookie,

like you I rediscovered the Saturn recently. I used to play games like Road Rash, Nights, Virtual cop and D as a kid, it was one of the first consoles I ever played.

After coming back to it after all these years i felt in love with the import scene and now aiming a full JP collecion

Thanks for your reply Padocast ;) .

It's true that when you search seriously the japonese collection of saturn games, that's totally unbelievable, there's so much unknown games to play

I'm now also looking for more japonese games, i don't know where to begin

Yeah, if I didnt collect for a bunch of other systems I would probably be halfway there ;)

You should put up some pics of your collection to the forum :)
