Sega Saturn JPN Promotional Covers for POS

Here is something not so easy to find but enjoyable to collect, something that you may not see everyday and that only a few hardcore collectors want to have all of them.

Promotional Covers have been made for shop to promote games before their launch day. Most of the time, the covers were put in standard cd cases.

Today, I will show you some JPN Promotional covers for Sega Saturn. There were a lot! In fact, probably the same amount of games released, plus with some variations and unreleased games. So, I let you imagine the difficulty to have a complete collection of these. (I don't have one myself if you ask me ).



First type of these Promotional Covers: a complete cover with back and front on the same side of the piece of paper.

Second type of these Promotional Covers: a complete cover with back and front on the 2 sides of the piece of paper.

Azel Panzer Dragoon (2 copies so you can see front and back on 1 picture):

For expensive Shmups: Radiant Silvergun, Battle Garegga, Stellar Assault SS, Kyuukyoku Tiger II Plus:




Sometimes, the cover is not the same as the final release, so you may called them "proto/beta" covers:

Sometimes, you will get variations:

And sometimes, you will find Promotional Covers for unreleased games.
I already identified 4 of them:
- X2 from Capcom (one of our member has it, maybe he could post a picture of it ?)
- Monica no Shiro (I don't have it but I am pretty sure I already saw it, does anyone have a picture of it ?)

Seeing these reminds me of the headaches items like this caused me before I found Satakore. I saw a game divider (I guess it's called that) for a US version of Jewels of the Oracle that was being sold with didviders like Panzer Dragoon, NIGHTS, etc, so I was convinced JotO had been released here

Exactly! Same with swagman and krazy Ivan. I wish I have all these US cardboard boxes for POS (or divider).
