Sega Worldwide Soccer 97 PAL alt versions

Postby zyrobs » Fri Apr 06, 2012 11:58 pm

Strangest damned thing I've found today. Two copies of Sega Worldwide Soccer 97 PAL version: Both in the crap cardboard plastic cases (the standard PAL one), both with the same manual, disc art, same everything.

However, their ringcodes are different:
MK-81112P-01033 A
and
MK-81112P-01033 B
The B version has exactly ONE BYTE difference, in audio track #3. The ENTIRE disc is an exact match otherwise.

ONE BYTE.

What.

One Byte is crazy. I wonder what they changed to be the insignificant. One byte is basically one letter added, that can't be anything significantly changed between the sound tracks.

As A and B are not just after the serial, it marks a different press, so probably one of them made an error in the mastering process ?

Aaah, right. I forgot about that. Just different mastering then - strange that there is 1 byte of different audio though. Probably the master disc was read wrong or something.
