2d or 3d?

Postby exa1 » Tue Jan 17, 2012 6:48 pm

what gaming style do people prefer on the saturn?
for me its 2d all the way,its why i chose the saturn.
i'd had enough of wireless remotes and motion
controlls.the only 3d game i've played on my
saturn was dragon master silk, that reminded
me of the dungeons in phantasy star and
shining in the darkness.i try to avoid buying 3d
games but i've picked up a few by mistake.

I also prefer 2d games. 3d games is not my cup of coffee ;) I find them hard to follow the action on screen when the movements are too fast. This is also why I don't play at the new gen games.

My initial response is to say 2D but I really like both equally. Games like Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force 3 & Resident Evil are my most played games and they're 3d.

you know,i'm not sure why i've stopped playing the 3d games.
i think it's because 2d sprites complement anime visuals and
cut scenes much better than 3d.
and ofcourse the saturn is just about the best machine for
2d,i did consider the neo geo or pc-fx but there arent as
many games and prices are high.

Depends on the Genre of the game. Certain games such as fighting and platform games are better in 2D. Genres like racing and first person shooters work better in 3D.

I love both also.

In fighting games, i like a VF2 and a KOF 99 in the same way.

In RPG, i prefer 2D and SD characters.

In platform, i prefer a lot more 2D games. I prefer a Rayman Saturn than the Rayman in 3D for example. And 2D games like super tempo or tryrush deepy are so cute to see :P
